In June 2018, a couple named Camille and Patrick McDowell from the USA granted financial support to build Administration Building (KTGS Office). For their honor, we named the building in their names, Camille and Patrick McDowell Administration Building. It is a wooden building with a concrete structure on the ground. Presently, it serves as the Administration Office of KTGS.
In 2018, we were building two wooden bungalows with financial support from Camille and Patrick McDowell in order to accommodate foreign volunteers to help teach KTGS students in the future. Till now, we do not have any foreign volunteers coming to stay here yet. We are looking for foreign volunteers to come, teach and share knowledge and experiences with our teachers, staff and students.
We constructed a conference hall in July 2019, and completed the construction in October 2019. It’s a wooden hall with a concrete green roof, and it is a Khmer traditional hall. The hall serves as the Conference Room, a place for holding meetings with students’ parents and for greeting visiting guests from the river cruise ships. It is also a daily Khmer and English classroom. The construction of the conference hall was generously sponsored by Camille and Patrick McDowell. The hall is very beneficial for Green School, or it can be a so-called multi-purpose hall. We deeply thank Camille and Patrick McDowell for their great contribution to Green School.
Sewing Training Classroom
The construction of the Sewing Training Classroom started in September 2020, and was completed in November 2020. The construction of the classroom was generously sponsored by Lindblad Expeditions (LEX), an expedition travel company that works in partnership with National Geographic to inspire people to explore and care about the planet.
Students’ Reading Hut (Mini Library)
The construction of the Students’ Reading Hut started in 2021, and it was generously sponsored by Jim and Martha Crowley. Our students can sit here and read books during their schooling time.
Computer Class and Library
Computer Class and Library were built on a single building with two floors in 2022. The computer class (first floor) was sponsored by Camille and Patrick McDowell, USA, and the library (second floor) was sponsored by Sangwan and Jean Claude Beau, Belgium.
