In order to reduce poverty in the community, KTGS has set up vocational training courses to help young and disadvantaged women from rural remote areas based on sewing skills. The Sewing Training Class started last year, and the class is equipped with six sewing machines and some other study materials sponsored by Camille and Patrick McDowell. Now, the students can design and sew clothes by themselves. This class will finish in the next two months. After completing the course, they can use the skill to support their lives.
Last year, we used the school bungalow as a sewing class, but this year, we have a new classroom sponsored by Lindblad Expeditions (LEX).
